Managing a man is too much work

There is nothing more disgusting than a Hindu woman arguing in favor of polygamy and child marriage. I hope you are doing it for twitter followers’ approval only. But if you are serious, you need immediate mental care help.

An interesting thought experiment is to see what women prefer in real life. How many women choose to be mistresses of rich men rather than wives of poor men. Even wives of rich men choose to live with cheating men. I am not in favour of polygamy but this is not a B&W subject

Poor families who need to care for women who have no interest in higher education or a viable career have to protect their daughters from eloping or getting involved with wrong company. Marriage is often a better solution

First, can I just say that all of you (and me) are from the same socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. India is very diverse. Many tribal traditions still have both polygamy and polyandry. Women are not only compromising but willing participants in both systems.

Second, as @Moskvaa pointed, the person the men are cheating with are also women. Most of those women are also willing participants in this “cheating”. Monogamy in ancient society was recommended but polygamy is practiced even today. Consensual polygamy in Hindus is NOT illegal.

So if the first wife does not file a criminal complaint against the husband for bigamy, the state cannot prosecute because no one else has locus standi. Second wife is not recognized per law so inheritance is affected but that can be remedied by making a will.

Many prominent personalities have pulled this off. So many politicians especially down south. Lastly, there can be many situations where people willingly get into polygamy, polyandry setups and they already do. So I agree with Penguin bhabhi, that it happens already.

Better to follow bad laws honestly

I see and hear how so many women and men are already cheering the "instant justice."

Problem isn’t that the process of law is faulty or takes forever and ever. Problem is the lack of clarity in our minds when it comes to the laws. The same process worked while the colonists were around. Stopped working when they left.

We never really reconciled the laws we were lumped with, with principles we accept. Which was a big mistake. It’s fine if common wasn’t totally acceptable to us. We should have argued and introduced elements from whatever dharma Shastras we wanted. Instead we turned dishonest.

Government is supposed to be working on replacement for IPC and CRPC. Let them work on a new constitution as well.

A meat alone diet (with zero plant intake) will not provide all the nutrients necessary for human health. But a plant alone diet can do that. Protein comes from both, but meat is better for Iron intake. But meat is pretty much zero for Vit B and C. Iron is there in plants also.

No use of muscles without bones unless you're an octopus. Bones need calcium and gram for gram, plant sources are much better for calcium than meat, though fish can give you some.

There's a misconception that Sri Aurobindo is not a philosopher because once he had remarked so. One of his best philosophical writings is The Problem of Rebirth which was serialised in ARYA 100 years back. He never gave the impression of resolving the mystery of Karma. Must read

Indian civilisation is a misleading phrase. People lived in pockets near rivers. In the evening, they used to light a fire to ward off wild animals. Used oil or ghee and children hummed some songs. This took the form of yajna over a few generations. The Veda got added to rituals.
