Vivekananda and Aurobindo >>> Any trad hindu scholar/acharya in last 250 years
Disagreement is fine but only a retard would hate on them.
I've read some of him. While he might be more versed and theologically sound than Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo is on another level.
Read Karapatri Maharaj before you give such hot takes. Sv Viv and Aur had their uses. But they don't come even remotely close to Karapatri Maharaj.
Best Bhagavad Gita commentaries in order:
→ Sri Aurobindo
→ Ramanuja
→ Adi Shankaracharya
→ Sridhar Swami
→ Madhavacharya
→ Sivananda
→ Yogananda
→ Prabhupada
→ Keshava Kasmiri
Okay, I forgot the very important one. Swami Mukundananda's commentry is the best one - represents both interpretations - AV, DV. Neutral translation and commentry from each and every perspective.
A must for beginners before they approach advanced ones like - Adi Shankara's.
I never knew he was into Gita too, I knew him as an freedom fighter.
Aurobindo was an honest man unlike Vivekananda who called akbar mahan.
Aurobindo wasn't confused man also, his intent was well placed and had goals. He genuinely inspired people.
Vivekananda was raita and inspired raitas from rss.
And Karpatri Maharaj was trad in true sense.
Hyped up. There are multiple siddha Babas (atleast 4-5 I personally know of).
But the glory of Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo is way far better. They were the one to show the people about mainstream Hinduism to the people here and abroad.
Also add one more - Yogananda.
Replying to
Their is a reason for that. What Swami Vivekanand publicly taught was like primary and secondary level of spirituality. What Sri Aurobindo taught is PHD level. That's why the common complain is 'it's difficult to understand Sri Aurobindo'. Of course it is.
Being from the RKM background, many Hindutva intellectuals hold high regard for Vivekananda. But over the last five years, the message has spread gradually that Sri Aurobindo is a far more original and authentic thinker. This will grow as more and more people will read his books.
